New TVET Year Begins at MADAM: A Boost for Skills Development

The new academic year for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes at MADAM officially commenced this week. With a focus on enhancing skills and employability among the youth, MADAM aims to address the growing demand for skilled workers in various sectors.br>The TVET skills programme at MADAM follows the targets set by the Government of Sierra Leone. The Minister of Education, Dr. David Sengeh, emphasized the importance of TVET in driving economic growth and reducing unemployment. “Investing in skills training is crucial for the development of our nation,” he stated during the launch event.br>Enrolment has been going well, and MADAM is implementing some new initiatives this year. One skills element that will be implemented across the year 1 and the year 2 students is the Youth Readiness Intervention (YRI). This will support students in developing their psycho-social skills and create group cohesion. MADAM teachers look forward to a new year of empowering young people and contributing to the country's development goals!
